Producing files in IFC format 2

The BIM Competition requires that digital models be converted to IFC open format. This exchange format gives us Open BIM for interoperability.

The IFC format improves collaboration and simplifies the management of data used by the wider project team and by other external partners, like jury members for example.

The CSTB provides BIM competitors with two documents so they can generate IFC files using the BIM Revit and Archicad programs. If you don’t have actual BIM software, keep in mind that some CAO software programs offer this format in export.

Download the guide for Archicad.

Download the guide for Revit.

Once their model is finalized and converted to IFC format, candidates are able to examine it on eveBIM: the competition viewer.

    Hi,
please could you provide more information how you will be checking IFC model?
For what we can get bonus points and what you will be looking for in our IFC models?

Do you need Energy Analysis, Structure Analysis, LEED possibilities etc.?

    Best wishes?

      Hi,

For what we can get bonus points and what you will be looking for in our IFC models?
      – You can get bonus point with paying attention to the point “3.e MBK Site” of the programm. A IFC format is required to be sure that the jury will be able to check every candidates’project thanks to the interoperability.

Do you need Energy Analysis, Structure Analysis, LEED possibilities etc.?
      – You can provide all those data if you want to: we are very interested in checking out how you will integrate them to the 3D model. It’s also interested for you to prove your building responds to the contemporary preoccupations in terms of durability and sustainability.

      Regards,
